Description : Placename is suggestive of a defended site, however no such features noted by the OS in 1976; CPAT site visit, 1981.
CPAT: as with Castell Manest (PRN 457), this record appears to have originated during a desktop search of the Ordnance Survey 6" maps of 1964 by the archaeological Division of that organisation. Nothing of interest was apparent either to the Ordnance Survey in 1976 or to CPAT in 1981, and it seems unlikely that more than twenty-five years on, a further site visit is likely to alter this picture (CPAT Defended Enclosures in Brecknock Project, 2007).
