Description :
Tomen Las - early castle. <1>

A small, steep sided castle mound is situated in marshy ground alongside a stream in the valley bottom of the Afon Pennal. It measures some 30m in diameter, has a flat top c.15m across and rises 4.5m above the surrounding land. A faint, wet depression around the SE quadrant may be the remains of an encircling ditch. There is no trace of a bailey. <2>
